At one time there were only three great cities in America that had a reputation for the best of the best when it came to gourmet food, they were of course New York, Sam Francisco and New Orleans with their cajun and creole foods, now however with the advent of gaming capitals there are numerous cities vying for best of the best which includes Las Vegas, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, South Tahoe and of course Miami, there are others but we will concentrate on these for now.

Have you ever sat down to a meal and when it was placed in front of you it was appetizing, the appearance was beautiful, your expectations were filled when you placed the first bite in your mouth and said YES! Yes!  Yes!!  This is great! Isn’t that what you expect every time you eat out? Well that is what I have tried to do as a chef all my life, it is the goal of any chef worth their salt! What I aim to do is direct you the reader to some of the best establishments in the business, from large to small, from vegan to main dish meat dishes, and every variety of food imaginable, the best travel bargains, (My brother owns a bus charter company so I travel all over) and the best service to boot, yes service makes it something to remember.

Everyone has their favorite haunt, a place that they feel comfortable and that is what we are looking for a comfortable eatery that is your home away from home, a place that says welcome.

Over the years I have been in restaurants throughout the U.S. as well as Europe while stationed in the Air Force, then when I went to Alaska we ate in numerous restaurants in Canada, as for where the best food is its anyones guess, there are numerous great restaurants, however one thing is for sure that places like Reno Las Vegas and other gaming capitals throughout the world seek the best chefs money can buy as they pay these chefs six figure salaries so the food better be great!

California has become perhaps the culinary capital of the world with European cuisine first then a rush of Asian foods in the 70’s and 80?,especially since Chinese cuisine has been here since the arrival of the Chinese in the 1800’s, then Thai Cuisine became very popular by the late80’s, as well as other Asian Pacific foods, so the Epicurean delights are endless.

It is now June 2011 and it is time to travel, as a traveling man I intend to start in Reno as soon as this rain stops and the sun shines once again in California, I know someone needs to tell Al Gore mother nature has called off global warming!  With that we can start planning from the Reno Sparks area I plan on going to Las Vegas after I go to Oroville California , actually I plan on going to Oroville in about a week so watch my articles on Word Press at jimfridas.wordpress.com, as well as here on Tumblr for some great new restaurants, one thing I can assure you of is that Oroville has to be one of the Antique Store Capitals of America, I love the Treasure Chest on 2085 Bird Street as I have purchased some great bargains there, go check it out, I will also tell you that there are some excellent restaurants there as well, reasonably priced and excellent food, another place I like to frequent is Rick’s Royal Subs, when I return I will tell you more about the newest restaurants in Oroville.

Where did 1990 go?  How about 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996,1997,1998,1999, 2000, 2001,2002,2003,2004, 2005, 2006,2007,2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 already!  I want to know where 1950 went, I mean its gone never to return as are any of them, progress, really?  I liked the 60’s and 70s, they will never return either, so what do you think of 2011?  Is it Christmas yet?  It soon will be, as the bible states in he end times the days will go fast other wise the people could not survive, and its that way with all the crazy people running the world its time for Jesus to make his return and soon, I am having a problem with all the criminals running the world, what?  You think that the governments are the good guys!   You must be kidding, or is that a herring bone your wearing on your nose?  OK then you aren’t kidding, you actually believe that Obama is the Messiah and that all is well in La la land, you poor soul you, wait until you get to the other side and realize that hell does not grow weed!  Can I help you with draw from you illusions?  

Part three in an on going series

So you want your own business, great now have you thought about what it is you want?  If you read all the networking magazines there are on the market there are literally thousands of businesses that you can operate from your home.  Some businesses are easy to run others are more complicated, there are service businesses, there are those that make things like engraved cups plates and other things that souvenir shoppers and buyers look for at flea markets and other fairs and places like that so that really does not make that a home based business but close.  I know several people in the networking trades that have made fortunes in the industry while others struggle to make ends meet, why?  Lets check out the why!  First these people have no organizational skills, they have no competence in the product and they are not motivated.  Motivated to want something beyond your wildest desire is more than just saying you want something because you just got to have it! Check back a year later and see if they got it, probably not.  So what is it that separates the winner from the loser?  Most likely  the opportunity that presents itself, that is what normally gets a person to act, motivated a person with the right program can conquer the world as the saying goes.  So let us investigate the various opportunities that abound for the home business bound person, “YOU”!

part two in an on going series

So you want your own business!  OK, how many millions of dollars do you want to invest?  What you do not have millions of dollars!  How about a couple hundred thousand dollars??  Not even you say, well then you will have to work hard in a home base business that will require maybe a couple of hundred dollars, can you afford that?  If not  then forget it, you don’t have a prayer, but if you are serious in getting into business and have a few dollars to invest then a home business may be just your cup of tea, even if you have never thought about a home business, there are hundreds if not thousands of home businesses that are very profitable for many people then there are those who don’t have an idea what they are doing in a home business because they are disillusioned before they get started.  My best advice to those interested in starting a home business is to make sure you are ready for the long haul, and if you are truly excited about the opportunity after having researched it then you may be on to something, like I always tell people being pumped as the saying goes actually goes a long way in helping a person build their home business, take Kara a mother of 6 in Wyoming on the verge of going into bankruptcy before starting her own home based business, today only a year and half after signing on is living in a 3700 square foot home new to be sure and has the income that affords her the opportunity to be a full time mother at the same time!
